Welcome back to USU-Eastern!
I can't believe it's time for our summer class already. I don't know about you, but that last summer class was a doozy. Now, here we are again and my laptop just keeps getting sluggisher and sluggisher.
Today I was looking to see which LPNs from last year will be with us this coming year. Sad that we won't have Kemley with us. After listening to Caleb today, I can tell you that he is the reason she went away. Just kidding. But, seriously, ask him. We will also miss Heather, Kim, and Lavera.
Sad.
But how cute is Jane??! The way those glasses perch on her nose as she tries to follow Alan's directions to log in to atitesting-dot-com.
I think Amber is going to give Lorraine a run for top student this year. Where was she today?
And a big welcome to all the PN students! It was fun to feel the excitement as we all trickled in to the orientation this morning. For some, this has been a long time coming. Then, to see the wide-eyed, frazzled look as they staggered out of class this afternoon. Priceless.
Just a reminder to click on the amazon link so that we can earn money for the nursing club. Last year we earned $162...whoop whoop.

Orientation Today
I, personally, did not get the congratulatory "Welcome to Nursing" letter, but I managed to find out about orientation by calling Lorraine (whose number I had from Physiology days). Today at 1pm we will all get to meet! I guess the RN class already had their meeting, so this will just be us PNs. Kinda sounds like peons. That is not a coincidence.
Well, what to expect? Last year, all the nursing instructors, along with JoElle, stood in front of our class and told us all to say good-bye to our families, friends, and activities for the year, because this year belonged to them. They advised us to not get married, and to not get pregnant during this year because it would make life H*** for the other person involved. So, let's see, Emily got married mid-year, Summer got married at the end of the year, and Joanie and Sulane both got pregnant and had babies before the year was over. Rob's wife had a baby, and Gregg had his chickens stolen. Tyler dropped out at the first of the year, Derek never made it past Fall Semester, and I...well, I did not get what you would call a 'holistic' experience from Chinle ER, so I made it up to Blanding's ER, who flew me out to St. George ICU, who flew me up to the Huntsman Cancer Hospital. So, while I did not "waste away" from treatments, which is really too bad for me, you all get to see a whole new side of me - my fuzzy head.
I'm hoping that when I talk about this blog today that all of you will jump in and make it your own, too. There are a ton of textbooks and workbooks to buy, and wouldn't it be great if we could earn money for the nursing club by getting a percentage of all the books we have to buy anyway?! So, click on the amazon link and ask all your friends to buy their books (and other stuff) from our links too.
